Let's just forget for a moment that Katie Holmes married Tom Cruise and that she dresses her six-year-old daughter in high-heels and dresses that cost more than three years of my rent and that she talks out of the side of her mouth in the most incredibly annoying way. Okay, have we forgotten? Of course not, because even though she divorced Tom and Suri is fascinating to look upon and she hasn't acted in anything anyone has seen in ten years, she's still just so so so annoying.

In keeping with this is the outfit the 33-year-old actress wore to the 12-12-12 Benefit Concert in New York City on Dec. 13. There's someting almost subversive about wearing something opulent to an event benefiting people who have lost everything, including their homes. Holmes took this into consideration, then chose a lush blue velvet Tom Ford dress with a sheer bodice and strategically placed velvet panels along with pointy-toe ankle-strapped black Tom Ford pumps.

I'm not saying one shouldn't wear an expensive outfit to a benefit. I'm saying that this particular outfit is ugly, and that it is oddly reminiscent of a turtle's stomach, and that come to think of it, Katie Holmes definitely has turtle vibes.
