For someone like me who essentially never stopped dressing in much the same fashion as I did at the age of thirteen (aside from shelving my metal lunchbox in favor of a real leather purse and ditching those baby barettes in favor of not looking like a mental patient), the 90s never really "came back" into style for me. However it's readily apparent that fashion is certainly now on a revolving cycle, and we are now firmly back in the late 90s, where grunge is lingering but rave/cyber/Spice Girl chic is taking over. (My friend Alanna and I have a theory that everything will re-set after this, because the late 90s brought with it the beginning of the omni-presence of the Internet, which froze all fashion in time, but that's for another essay).

This vinyl apron dress is a perfect example of late 90s: it would have been perfect for a trip to the rave (after you pick up the map from the sketchy dude at the 7-11 and then find the password from your weird neighbor) but now in 2013 it's perfect for anything, from a party with your friends to a day at school (with tights and a long sleeve shirt under, let's not get you expelled ok?
